Computer Service Tip: Protect Your Wrists!
Some people type more than others.
As professionals in the respective fields of web design, network support and systems management, members of our Fort Lauderdale computer repair staff probably use computers more than most.
We've seen a wide variety of keyboards in our day, one of which is the newer Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000.
Sometimes, computer repair doesn't necessarily apply to the machine, but to the person operating it. You need to take care of yourself, too!
The 7000's package includes an ergonomic keyboard, with several height and latitude adjustments to help keep your wrists flat. What many people fail to do with keyboards is adjust them correctly... they need to be adjusted carefully to keep wrists in their proper position.
The keyboard has some other great features, including function keys and programmable keys for instant access to e-mail or Web browser.
Then there is the mouse, another area of concern for many clients of this and other Fort Lauderdale computer services.
We recommend the mouse that comes with the Desktop 7000, one which moves the wrist off to one side and adds a few buttons - including zoom, which magnifies a portion of the screen.
The scroll works four ways (up, down, left, right), making moving around Web pages a stress-free snap. It also offers improved battery life.
Many may dislike it because of the size alone, but our web design pros like it for its advanced capabilities, and recommend test-driving it for a few minutes before writing it off.
The cost is relatively high for keyboard / mouse combo ($125 or so), but if you do a lot of typing, you may find it worth the investment.
Hey, your wrists just might thank you someday.
